Born and raised in San Diego to two very non-horsey parents, Ashley’s passion for horses began early—so early, in fact, that her VERY first tantrum was over being removed from a pony ride. Her parents reluctantly signed her up for lessons, and from that moment on, horses became her life's focus.Without the luxury of family resources, Ashley began working at age 13 - starting young horses, TEACHING LESSONS, and riding whatever she could get a leg up on. From green and quirky to truly exceptional, every horse taught her something new. Her natural feel and deep understanding of the horse’s mind and body allowed her to connect with nearly every horse she rode, bringing out their full potential.Over the years, Ashley trained under several Grand Prix and Olympic-level riders, refining her skills and expanding her perspective. She’s brought along countless off-the-track Thoroughbreds, as well as complex, misunderstood, and so-called “problem” horses that others had given up on—earning a reputation for her patience, insight, and ability to turn challenges into success stories.Today, Ashley runs a thriving, highly customized program at Cavallina Farms, where she focuses on individualized training for both horse and rider. She’s helped riders of all ages develop confidence, skill, and a deeper connection with their equine partners—always with a foundation rooted in empathy, balance, and horsemanship from the ground up.
